OUR STORY
It was in 2022, after two years of research and development, that Bonbori was created with the intention of merging the beauty rituals practiced in Japan for generations with the quality and safety of Made in Italy. Each product celebrates a daily care that is gentle, almost holistic, aimed at creating a delicate self-care ritual centered around its natural ingredients sourced from both the Eastern and Western worlds, focusing on goals of radiance, hydration, and deep cleansing. Our lab has over 10 years of experience and shares our commitment to using primarily natural and sustainable raw materials, striving together to find the right balance between naturalness, desired texture, and effectiveness. From day one, Bonbori has been an eco-bio company certified by AIAB.

"Bonbori celebrates my connection with the Japanese beauty world: almost 10 years ago, working closely with many Japanese women of all ages, I fell in love with their faces, the elegant gestures, the skincare rituals, and their concept of self-care as a ritual to be dedicated to at the end of each day. I learned to base my daily care on pillars that were much simpler and gentler than I could have imagined and applied: carefully chosen products for deep yet gentle cleansing and two or more steps of hydration, combined with UV protection as a universal remedy for naturally radiant and enhanced skin, regardless of age or imperfections, leaving aside too aggressive formulas and ingredients. Bonbori was created to spread this same philosophy of effective gentleness."

Bonbori gently draws inspiration from the Japanese beauty tradition which advocates for a simple yet daily self-care. "Sonae areba urei nashi" is akin to our saying "prevention is better than cure" and is the principle behind practices aimed at prevention and beauty rituals that have been part of the Japanese tradition for centuries: double cleansing, double hydration, and sun protection. Bonbori offers an extremely versatile self-care ritual suitable for all skin types, with a particular focus on the more sensitive ones. A ritual formulated to meet diverse needs across skin types and ages: deep hydration that preserves skin elasticity and its natural radiance, effective cleansing that does not attack or dry out the skin, formulations that counteract the oxidative action of free radicals, and comfortable sun protection also suitable for combination skin.
LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Chikyu is our Planet Earth. In Japanese culture, the bond between humans and nature is so deep that it is celebrated in countless ways. We feel this connection strongly. Bonbori has consciously chosen to minimize unnecessary packaging and make the necessary ones versatile. The PET used for the bottles is partly recycled and entirely recyclable. The glass bottles are protected by biodegradable recyclable cases made from FSC paper, obtained with 25% recovered fibers. The labels on the bottles, whose original graphics were first crafted by hand and then digitized, are made of plastic material derived from renewable sources such as wood. The shipping box used for each order is reversible, designed to be reused or kept.
